Thought I would check in and tell you how it is going. I am happy with the overall direction of things to date. It is not going perfectly, or even the way I had it all mapped out, but it is going, and I think getting easier as the days go by. I am making better choices every day and I walk 2 miles most days. How it is not perfect is the total calorie cap, I have gone over a bit a few days. Same reasons, usually at night, but this time instead of a huge bowl of ice-cream it is a bowl of organic flax seed cereal and soy milk. And you know what...I actually like it.
Next week I will be going (hopefully!) to the gym two days a week. I picked up a copy of "You on a diet"...will let you know what I think when I am done with it.
I couldn't stand it and weighed myself yesterday, I was trying to hold off for a month. Good news, I lost weight...so yeah, I like the way things are going so far. More later... hope it is going well with you too and I look forward to reading about it!
Congratulations on the weight loss so far! Walking 2 miles a day is really good - I wish I had chance to do that - I can just about squeeze a 30 min gym session in every day, but would love to get out at lunchtime to stretch my legs.
keep it up, youre doing well.

Annie,
Natures Path makes both a cereal and oatmeal with flax seed. You can also get a healthy dose in Uncle Sam cereal as well as buying it whole or in oil form...

Congrats on the scale moving down. Who makes the flax seed cereal? I just got that book but still haven't had a chance to read it. Run low on reading time these days.

Yeah for you!
I'm big on that flax seed cereal as well. Low glycemic. I do admit to alternatating it with ice cream. Perhaps I should just mix them together. High-fiber ice cream.

Sage advice Margaret! We are supposed to get a snow and ice storm over the next few days...sounds fun.

Just don't do too much weighing--enjoy the new lifestyle and adjust to it, then reap the results. Otherwise, it can be discouraging. WAY TO GO! How's your weather? I keep hearing Texas in the news.
