Yes, it is that time again. Time for the Sunday mileage reports...time to begin training for another marathon attempt. A few days ago I registered for the Houston Half Marathon.
Some of you might remember my attempt two years ago for the San Antonio Half Marathon. I was doing fairly well, well enough to walk the thing anyway. Hurricanes Katrina and Rita kind of put a kink in my training and I failed to get back on track.
I have think it is better to train for something than simply exercise. It helps with motivation and gives you a goal. One of the good things about marathons now is that you can attach your run to a charity and raise funds as well, and that adds even more meaning.
So, with a little luck, desire, motivation, and a good pair of shoes...I am going to try to do something I have NEVER done before, enter and finish a race of 13 miles...emphasis on finish!
Next Sunday....4 miles.
Next post...What the hell is a Trans-fat anyway?
You can do it!! (it sounds much better when spoken with a spanish accent)
Keep us posted...

Well, I will probably mostly walk it, but thanks for the encouragement! Somebody who runs as much as you do would have no trouble at all!

Oh, YAY! That sounds like a wonderful goal, on every level. Some day I'd like to train for a half-marathon. I've been running for 30 years, but never long distances.
