Today I went to the park. I haven't been back there for a long time, must have been over 6 months. I really like the half mile track, though I find it hard to remember how many laps I have gone. I think I might have to bring a marker and notch my arm with each pass! Ah, the joys of middle age!
Anyway, this morning I got my 4 miles in and it was not too bad. I walked the first 2, and then walk/ran the second. Every 4 minutes I would jog for a minute. My time was 1:02:09, not too bad considering I have not trained for a long while.
I went to the gym last week also. I try to get two days on the treadmill, going 2 miles each time, using the walk/run ration of 4-1. Two other days I use the elliptical and weight machines for about 30 minutes.
Nothing great, but it's a beginning...again. Feels good.
Hey Sweetie, just stoppin' by! I've not been doing my shuffling run for a couple of weeks due to darn cold weather here but it's negatively impacting my ability to sleep...how's that baby? And the teen? and the rest of the family??

I always have trouble remembering to count laps. Four miles is awesome. Good for you.

Wow! That is awesome. I keep trying to run for a 5k, but I have some ankle swelling. So I am sticking to walking for now. And about your earlier post on transfats: I just finished reading a book on nutrition and read the chapter on trans fat right before visiting here. What a weird coincidence.

GREAT job. It takes time and effort to get into a routine. I am going running soon, in spite of the rain. It is easy to talk myself out of it when the weather is crappy.
