We found out a few days after my last post, in June, just after his 2nd birthday. It wasn't a devastating diagnosis, we had suspected something like that for about 6 months prior. He is what they call on the "mild" side of the Autistic scale, PDD-NOS I think. His biggest symptom is a lack of talking, but there are a few other things as well.
Needles to say, afterwords my thoughts about weight loss generally went from the back burner to the deep freeze, as well as my blogging. I still weigh about the same, maybe I gained a few pounds, so I am still fat. But I did enter the Houston Half Marathon again and have been training for it. It is in just two weeks, on Jan 18th. Of course I am walking for the most part with brief moments of jogging! My goal is to finish under 4 hours, last year I did it in 3 hours and 18 minutes.
My teen is doing it with me this time, and we are dedicating the marathon to OAR, Organization for Autism Research. If you want to throw a few bucks into our cause, you can donate here at this link, Run for Autism.
Anyway, wish me luck with it all. I will try and keep you posted.
