Baby B has Autism
We found out a few days after my last post, in June, just after his 2nd birthday. It wasn't a devastating diagnosis, we had suspected something like that for about 6 months prior. He is what they call on the "mild" side of the Autistic scale, PDD-NOS I think. His biggest symptom is a lack of talking, but there are a few other things as well.
Needles to say, afterwords my thoughts about weight loss generally went from the back burner to the deep freeze, as well as my blogging. I still weigh about the same, maybe I gained a few pounds, so I am still fat. But I did enter the Houston Half Marathon again and have been training for it. It is in just two weeks, on Jan 18th. Of course I am walking for the most part with brief moments of jogging! My goal is to finish under 4 hours, last year I did it in 3 hours and 18 minutes.
My teen is doing it with me this time, and we are dedicating the marathon to OAR, Organization for Autism Research. If you want to throw a few bucks into our cause, you can donate here at this link, Run for Autism.
Anyway, wish me luck with it all. I will try and keep you posted.
That must have been very stressful! I wondered if something was "up." It sounds like real life and your goals are keeping you busy. That's great that Teenage Son is doing the half marathon with you. I'm impressed! I can't get Alison to even go running with me! (and she needs to since she apparently still thinks she can eat as much as when she did gymnastics 4 hours a day)

Sorry to hear about your son. It is great you are doing a half marathon though. I love to run. I am doing a small 5K today. I am struggling financially with credit card debt, but I will keep it in mind when I donate next. My goal is to donate $90 every three months to a good cause. If you want to support my website below, I will donate some of the $90 on April 1.
